Our Story

After practicing law with a boutique litigation firm for six years, Mike Jones established The Jones Law Firm, P.A. in 1999.  Since that time, the firm  has provided high quality legal services to a wide range of corporate and individual clients.

Brant McCoy was a valued associate attorney with the firm from 2007 to 2010.  At that time, Brant formed The McCoy Law Firm, LLC, and grew a successful practice of his own, specializing in guardianship, family law, business and criminal defense matters.

Mike and Brant kept in close contact over the years, often working together on guardianship cases and other matters.  In 2015, they realized it was time to join forces again to better serve their still-growing client base.  Their common bond is an intense desire to help others in a professional and compassionate manner.  Their merger formed Jones, & McCoy, P.A., which opened its current offices in Corporate Woods, located in Johnson County, Kansas.

In 2021, Jason Covington left the Johnson County District Attorney’s Office to join Mike and Brant.  Jason brings extensive litigation experience from his 15 years as a prosecutor for the State of Kansas.  Together we formed Jones, McCoy, & Covington, P.A.

Jones, McCoy & Covington, P.A., is a full-service law firm serving the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan Area in all State and Federal courts. We are licensed to practice in both Kansas and Missouri.
